Just A Baby

It’s official.

Kulia is enrolled for her first (and only) year of preschool next year.  She’s not so happy about it and when informed of her  fate she replied, “but Mommy, I just a Baby!”  My thoughts exactly child.  My reticence is compounded by the fact that we held Leina back.  She started preschool when she turned 4.  Kulia, by comparison, is a whole year younger and seems so small.  I guess I have six more months to grow into the idea of Kulia going to school.  It all seems so soon really.  I mean, the child is still in a crib and wearing diapers.  How can she possibly be ready for school!  The up side is, every time I mention school, Kulia bemoans her baby status and then curls up in my lap with her Patches for a thumb sucking an a little mommy comfort.  I am so loving that mommy comfort part.  My baby still.

Of course, I realize that Ms. Teri will probably insist on calling her by her true name.  Drat.  The days of Kulia introducing herself as “baby” are severely numbered people.  Severely numbered.
