Yes, I’m Still Alive

I’m still breathing. Barely. It seems that the McNugget and the germies are playing tag team with me. Right when baby M settles down, I get hit with a cold/flu that lays me flat on my back. I thought I’d miss coffee, beer and wine the most during these nine months but to be honest, what I really miss is my Night-time Alka Seltzer Plus, Robitusm Cold & Cough Syrup, and good old aspirin.

Kevin, angel that he is, nursed me all last week. To repay him, I passed on the germs so now he’s got the chills, shakes, cough, stuffy head, etc, etc, etc. Basically, we’re a pair of pathetic sickos.

So please forgive the lack of updates but I can sum up the last week below….

Crumpled kleenex, moaning, watery eyes, barbwire throat, and general misery.

There, you’re all caught up. I’m hoping to kick it for good by the end of this weekend but we all know what that means, right? Time for baby McNugget to decide to act up. Sigh. Only 4 more months…only 4 more months.

The memories of my family outings are still a source of strength to me. I remember we’d all pile into the car – I forget what kind it was – and drive and drive. I’m not sure where we’d go, but I think there were some trees there. The smell of something was strong in the air as we played whatever sport we played. I remember a bigger, older guy we called “Dad.” We’d eat some stuff, or not, and then I think we went home. I guess some things never leave you.

I’ve been sick on and off since November. I’m stopping by the drug store for another dose of antibiotics today. I think I’m having a sympathetic pregnacy.
