As the plane was taking off and it was

2 months down a lifetime to go…
I can’t believe it’s been 2 months already. It seems like just yesterday we brought the little McNugget home. She was so small and snuggly it was unreal. I just couldn’t remember Leina being that small. It was definitely a case of baby-nesia.
Now she’s a giant! She reminds me of a little panda bear so I can’t help thinking of her as the “panda-baby” every time I pick her up.
But judge for yourself:
Crazy huh? Now, in just 2 months, she’s smiling, laughing, giggling and goo-gooing (as opposed to googling which I’m sure she’ll do by age 3).
She just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger. At this rate she’ll be over 100 lbs at age 2. I hope Huggies go up to size 50.
Apologies to Papa…
It has been brought to my attention that there are 2 people arriving in just a few days to see us (really they want to see Kulia and Leina). And while we have a counter dedicated to Tutu – proclaiming to the world the esteem, love and excitement we are feeling for the visit of that wonderful women – we did not have one for Papa. Aka:
Silly Papa
Cold Papa
On an airplane Papa?
Watch me Papa!!!
Papa of Papa and Tutu
Let me categorically state that we are just as excited for Papa’s visit. We know he is going to have a blast playing with his rascally oldest granddaughter as well as be overjoyed at finally seeing his latest granddaughter.
I know Tutu know’s what she’s getting herself into. I just hope Papa does too…
Halfway there…
You’ll notice from the new counter to the right that tomorrow is the “halfway to Tutu” point. The day on which Tutu has been gone just as many days as the number of days until she comes back. Now, I know 15 days without Tutu may not seem like many, but to those in the throws of baby-dom, it’s a lifetime.
Please also note, that some people out there – I don’t want to name any names, but they live in San Diego and have 2 adorable little boys – get Tutu so frequently that they don’t even need a Tutu counter on their website, and even if they had one it wouldn’t go above some insanely small number, like 4!
But I’m not jealous. No not me.
Kulia Update
Chrissie was at the lactation nurse today and got to a quick checkup for Kulia.
She’s doing great, new weight: 7 Lbs 8 oz – up 1 oz from the hospital, way to go baby!
Kulia still has some of that post-birth jaundice though and the nurse reccomended the usual little bit o’ sunlight everyday for the next week.
“Does the nurse know what state we live in?” I asked> We’re not due for sunlight until July. Oh well, Kulia will get introduced to the June gloom. This will probably make her love the cold and rain, causing her to settle in Alaska when she’s allowed to the leave the house (at age 25).
7 Lbs 8 oz!
Grandparents are the best
You know there’s nothing better than grandparents in general. They shower love, attention, time, food and money on their grandchildren with abandon. Which means of course you get some much needed time to catch up on all the stuff that needs doing around the house. With out grandparents I don’t know where we’d be.
But, there’s something to be said for that extra special grandparent who’s willing to get down and dirty to play with your daughter. I give you exhibit A:
Now, when the grandchild rolls out the “Cata-pilla” tunnel, how many grandparents will immediately jump out of their seat and stick their heads into it? Not many, I’d be willing to bet. But without a thought to her own safety Carla was down on the floor in a flash and Leina just loved it. She couldn’t stop laughing (both Carla and Leina!). Thanks for making Leina’s day so special Manny.
