{"id":1631,"date":"2011-03-15T11:17:26","date_gmt":"2011-03-15T18:17:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chrissierocks.org\/?p=1631"},"modified":"2011-03-20T10:33:32","modified_gmt":"2011-03-20T17:33:32","slug":"fish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chrissierocks.org\/?p=1631","title":{"rendered":"Fish"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Fish\" src=\"\/2011\/fish.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"600\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Goldie and Rainbow<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Yup.<\/p>\n<p>Fish.<\/p>\n<p>Because there wasn&#8217;t enough animal poop to clean in my life, right? \u00a0Actually, I kind of like these little buggers. \u00a0Oh, I have no illusion that they will last long. \u00a0These little fish never do. \u00a0But I do find myself mesmerized by their motion whenever I walk by their little bowl. \u00a0There is something so soothing about watching a fish swim.<\/p>\n<p>So, Goldie and Rainbow came into our life in a little plastic bag. \u00a0The girls had their school carnival on Friday and we went down for some fun. \u00a0There were a ton of easy games to play, candy to win, teachers to dunk, and games to play. \u00a0It made me a bit nostalgic. \u00a0The cake walk, the ring toss, and the ping pong ball throw where the prize was your very own goldfish in a bag. \u00a0Timeless. \u00a0Of course, I remember our school carnival at Soleado being outside on the playground. \u00a0Here in the land of gloom, it was held indoors. \u00a0But aside from that, everything seemed unchanged. \u00a0Same games; same prizes. \u00a0 We spent quite a few tickets on these here goldfish. \u00a0Leina won first and Kulia put on a brave face but the tears were welling. \u00a0Leina was feeling magnanimous and agreed to wait in line again to win her sister a fish and, several attempts later, she did.<\/p>\n<p>And so, here they swim, our carnival fish.<\/p>\n<p>Anybody want to take bets on how long they last?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yup.
