{"id":1504,"date":"2009-11-16T15:38:21","date_gmt":"2009-11-16T22:38:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chrissierocks.org\/?p=1504"},"modified":"2009-12-29T13:16:29","modified_gmt":"2009-12-29T20:16:29","slug":"halloween-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chrissierocks.org\/?p=1504","title":{"rendered":"Halloween Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, it&#8217;s been a while since Halloween but my hands have been full with getting everyone healthy again. \u00a0Now that I have some &#8220;me&#8221; time back, I can catch up on some much needed website updating!<\/p>\n<p>This year for Halloween, Leina was a vampire. \u00a0This was a major departure for us. \u00a0In the past, Leina has shied away from anything spooky on Halloween. \u00a0All costumes involved fairies, princesses or butterflies. \u00a0Cute, not scary. \u00a0But this year, she was ready for some fright! \u00a0She wanted a long black cape, fang teeth, and blood. \u00a0I was only too happy to oblige. \u00a0Kulia, thankfully, continued the tread of world&#8217;s easiest costume. \u00a0Black pants + black shirt with extra. \u00a0Last year it was a set of butterfly wings. \u00a0This year, it was ears and a tail for a very cute black kitty. \u00a0 I got off very, very easy.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 520px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/pictures\/2009\/costumes.jpg\" alt=\"Vampire Girl and her Black Cat\" width=\"510\" height=\"680\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Vampire Girl and her Black Cat<\/p><\/div>\n<p>While I recovered from my oral surgery, Kevin took the girls to two Halloween parties. \u00a0First, they stopped off at Kat and Josh&#8217;s bash. \u00a0I heard that Josh was dressing up as Captain Hammer. \u00a0It wasn&#8217;t much of a stretch to figure out Kevin&#8217;s costume. \u00a0Hello Dr. Horrible! \u00a0Those two, I swear, were separated at birth.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 672px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/pictures\/2009\/drhammer.jpg\" alt=\"What Silly Boys\" width=\"662\" height=\"593\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">What Silly Boys<\/p><\/div>\n<p>After lots of candy and some cookie decorating, Kevin herded the kids up to his dad&#8217;s house for Manny&#8217;s yearly Halloween party. \u00a0The girls got to eat more candy, play with their cousins, and then consume more treats. \u00a0At the end of it all they were\u00a0exhausted and shaking all at the same time.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 688px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/pictures\/2009\/mannyshouse.jpg\" alt=\"Cousins on the Couch 2009\" width=\"678\" height=\"570\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cousins on the Couch 2009<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I am sad to have missed all the Halloween fun but I must say, having teeth removed\/implanted right before Halloween is a great way to limit your candy consumption. \u00a0Suddenly, chocolate bars full of nuts and chewy caramel loose their charm. \u00a0I can honestly say that this is the first year I did not snack on any of the candy I was handing out. \u00a0A first. \u00a0 And, lets face it, probably a last as well!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, it&#8217;s been a while since Halloween but my hands have been full with getting everyone healthy again. \u00a0Now that I have some &#8220;me&#8221; time back, I can catch up on some much needed website updating!
