In the Beginning, There was A Blank Wall

Our kitchen - so small, so sad. Before you is a round table stuck in a square hole. Dark, unshapely, it was obviously out of place and needed replacing.
This called for Elmo! Undaunted by the task, he set to work immediately. Sawing, cutting, sanding, creating the perfect table.
He worked day and night, refusing even to take a moment to remove his mask for this picture. (Kind of scary looking, huh?).
Being the master craftsman that he is, he didn't stop at the table but moved onto the first stage of the cabinets as well. Once done, they loaded up the truck and headed for Portland.
The first order to business was to assemble the table. This required the use of power tools which accounts for the big smiles on Kevin & Elmo's faces.
JT also go into the act as the master cleaner. No sooner had a speck of dust hit the floor when JT was there with the broom or vacuum. Nothing got by her!
At last, the table was moved into position and the installion could begin. Due to insurance purposes, Kevin was not allowed to use the cordless drill but was pacified with a little hammer instead. Whoa there Kev, careful with that!
What you witness here are the final moments before completing. Awe-inspiring, isn't it?
Ahhhh, the joy of a job well done. As payment, Elmo was given some local brew and a pat on the back. But don't get too cocky boys, the hard part is yet to come!
Day Two - The cabinets. The morning started out rough when we realized we didn't have a socket on the wall. This required a few trips to HomeDepot and some precision wiring. Due to his good behavior with the table, Kevin was upgraded from small hammer to big flashlight. Don't worry, he was under close supervision the whole time.
The first section goes up! At this point, we had no idea that the wall was not level but in fact bowed. Notice the smiles and relaxed attitude.
It wasn't until much later that we realized something was horribly wrong with the wall. Luckily Elmo had a few tricks up his sleeve and managed to level the whole thing out.
What was JT doing this whole time? She was also creating but on a slightly smaller scale. Look at that beautiful ribbon work! You go JT!
Once it was all done, it was time for a Kevin specialty - BBQ! Here, Kevin is in his element as the whole purpose is the cause things to burn. He cooked up quite a feast of char-su burgers. Yum!
With all the work over, Elmo could kick back and munch the grub. Little did he know that we had some trees that needed trimming. Whaaahahahahah.
Aren't they sweet? My fabulous parents!
