Halloween Review

Yes, it’s been a while since Halloween but my hands have been full with getting everyone healthy again.  Now that I have some “me” time back, I can catch up on some much needed website updating!

This year for Halloween, Leina was a vampire.  This was a major departure for us.  In the past, Leina has shied away from anything spooky on Halloween.  All costumes involved fairies, princesses or butterflies.  Cute, not scary.  But this year, she was ready for some fright!  She wanted a long black cape, fang teeth, and blood.  I was only too happy to oblige.  Kulia, thankfully, continued the tread of world’s easiest costume.  Black pants + black shirt with extra.  Last year it was a set of butterfly wings.  This year, it was ears and a tail for a very cute black kitty.   I got off very, very easy.

While I recovered from my oral surgery, Kevin took the girls to two Halloween parties.  First, they stopped off at Kat and Josh’s bash.  I heard that Josh was dressing up as Captain Hammer.  It wasn’t much of a stretch to figure out Kevin’s costume.  Hello Dr. Horrible!  Those two, I swear, were separated at birth.

After lots of candy and some cookie decorating, Kevin herded the kids up to his dad’s house for Manny’s yearly Halloween party.  The girls got to eat more candy, play with their cousins, and then consume more treats.  At the end of it all they were exhausted and shaking all at the same time.

I am sad to have missed all the Halloween fun but I must say, having teeth removed/implanted right before Halloween is a great way to limit your candy consumption.  Suddenly, chocolate bars full of nuts and chewy caramel loose their charm.  I can honestly say that this is the first year I did not snack on any of the candy I was handing out.  A first.   And, lets face it, probably a last as well!

Sooo cute, including Kevin. 🙂 Glad you’re feeling better and that the whole household is on the mend. It’s been a rough year for lots of people, sickness and surgeries! Kat tells me you have a “blast from the past” story to share. Is there a good time to call and chat this weekend?
